About Small Charity Week

Find out more about the week and how to get involved.

What the week is about

Small Charity Week is a national celebration of the vital role small charities play across the UK.

It's a moment to recognise their impact, strengthen support and help them grow their reach even further.

Small charities are where change really happens.

They are rooted in their communities, responding quickly to local needs and creating support that fits real people and real places.

At a time when communities are under pressure and demand is rising, their role has never been more important.

Small Charity Week shines a light on that impact and helps more people understand why small charities matter

Defining a small charity

A small charity is a voluntary organisation with a social or charitable purpose with an annual income of less than £1 million. This includes registered charities, community groups, community interest companies (CICs) and other structures.
